The EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is hosting a series of free community history workshops for history enthusiasts, teachers, researchers, students, and the general public.
These workshops will discuss the human elements of the story of flight in America, and how flight has impacted the nation's social, political, and economic history.
Dr. Peggy Chabrian, president and founder of Women in Aviation International, speaks about female pioneer pilots such as Amelia Earhart and the on the history of airline flight attendants.
The speaker series is supported through a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council.

The EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is hosting a series of free community history workshops for history enthusiasts, teachers, researchers, students, and the general public.
These workshops will discuss the human elements of the story of flight in America, and how flight has impacted the nation's social, political, and economic history.
Joseph J. Corn, Stanford University professor and social and cultural historian, discusses explorations of the past, present, and future of the commercial air industry with break out session on developing educational resources about the business of flight.
The speaker series is supported through a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council.

Pioneer Airport Opening

Pioneer Airport
The new flying season opens at Pioneer Airport, with vintage aircraft activities, plus Young Eagles flights. More than 50 vintage airplanes are displayed in seven period hangers designed to take you back to aviation’s “Golden Age” of the 1920’s and 30’s. The unique recreation will take you back to a time when the magic of flying astounded and charmed the whole world. These workshops will discuss the human elements of the story of flight in America, and how flight has impacted the nation's social, political, and economic history.
Henry M. Holden, aviation historian and author, explores the aviation aspects of United States military history centered on the career of Wisconsinite Billy Mitchell (1879–1936), who was a strident advocate for air power.
