A Country Christmas Concert for a Cure |

Grammy-winning
recording artist Kenny Rogers will perform “A Country Christmas
Concert for a Cure” concert at the EAA AirVenture Museum’s Eagle
Hangar on Monday, November 26, with proceeds to benefit the LeRoy Butler
Foundation for Breast Cancer. The evening will feature former Green Bay
Packer safety Butler, other Packer players, and maybe even a few
surprise guests. Attendees can also participate in live and silent
auctions featuring Packer memorabilia, VIP vacations, and other items.

B-17 Fantasy Flight Camp

November 30 - December 2, 2007
|
One
of the most important airplanes of World War II, the B-17 Flying
Fortress bomber, needs little introduction. Program participants are
immersed in the history of the B-17, meet B-17 veterans, and receive a
45-minute flight experience in EAA’s Aluminum Overcast, one of
only a handful of B-17s left flying in the world.

Christmas in
the Air

"Christmas
in the Air" attracts kids of all ages and has become an annual tradition
at EAA. The event features festive music performed by more than 20 local
musical groups on four stages located throughout the museum. Enjoy free
cookies and punch, a chocolate-tasting competition between almost 30
different chocolate vendors as part of "Just Plane Chocolate,"
and – what everyone waits for - Santa Claus arriving by helicopter at
6:30 p.m. This year, we are pleased to feature a Chicago-based children’s
show called “Those Funny Little People” (show times are 5:00 p.m.
and 7:00 p.m.) and an appearance by Green Bay Packers great, LeRoy Butler.

Banquet

EAA will
host its 5th Annual Wright Brothers
Memorial Banquet at the EAA AirVenture Museum’s Eagle Hangar on
Friday, December 14. The
dinner, which commemorates the 104th anniversary of man’s first successful
powered flight, features keynote speaker and aviation legend Burt
Rutan. Rutan, EAA 26033, will talk
about the exciting future of space flight. He is the man who designed
SpaceShipOne, the spacecraft that achieved the first privately-funded
suborbital flight to win the $10 million Ansari X-Prize in 2004.
Rutan is also well known in the
homebuilding community for his innovative designs like the Vari-Eze and
Long Eze. He also designed Voyager, which in 1986 flew around around the world
without stopping or refueling; and GlobaFlyer, which Steve Fossett flew
solo around the world without refueling in 2005.
Tickets are available at $35 per
person for EAA members and $40 per person for non-members. Seating is
limited and reservations are required. Make your reservation today online

Grab
your favorite broomstick and your best dress robes and make your way to
the EAA AirVenture Museum for Kids Days, December 26-31, from 10 a.m. -
5 p.m. Celebrate the school holiday - Harry Potter style.
Each day there will be fun for the whole family as you participate in a
golden snitch scavenger hunt and create an enchanted flying machine!
Transform into a Hogwarts student when you design your very own tie, hat,
and magic wand. Don’t forget to score points for your house in the
world-famous Owl Toss and learn to make your very own magic in the
Wingardium Leviosa experiment. This event is great for all ages and all
activities are included in regular Museum admission.

| Skiplane Fly-In

A
festive gathering - snow or no snow - will be held on Saturday, January
26, as the annual EAA
Skiplane Fly-In descends on EAA AirVenture Museum’s Pioneer Airport. If there is enough snow on the ground, an impressive
array of skiplanes will be welcomed. Otherwise airplanes are welcome to land at Wittman Regional Airport. Shuttles will
run throughout the day to and from Orion and Basler FBOs.
Complimentary chili and cake will be
served to celebrate the birthday of EAA’s matriarch, Audrey Poberezny, beginning at
11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to this
free-of-charge event, so put on your best winter clothes and head out to
the airport!
Those driving in to the event can simply
follow the signs to Pioneer Airport. Pilots intending to fly in must
contact Sean Elliott
(920-426-4886) to register and receive an arrival briefing.
