November 30, 2004 - The EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, plays host to two very special events in the month of December, and EAA members throughout the world are invited to "attend" through the EAA Members only website. Live webcasts are planned for the December 7 commemoration, "Remember Pearl Harbor: Was Admiral Kimmel to Blame?" and the gala Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet on December 17 featuring keynote speaker, pilot and astronaut of SpaceShipOne Mike Melvill.
The Pearl Harbor program webcast features Thomas Kimmel, grandson of Adm. H.E. Kimmel and begins at 6:15 p.m. CST. The Wright brothers banquet comes on-line at 7:30 p.m. CST. To see either program, log in at http://members.eaa.org, and follow the link. Either Windows Media Player or Real Player is required to view the programs.
EAA's live video webcasts are made possible by a grant from the Wright Family Foundation, with which EAA installed live-feed technology. The first webcast took place last year on December 17, recapping Centennial of Flight activities from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Archived webcasts can be accessed through the EAA AirVenture Museum website.
